Washington DC Drivers
A report earlier this year showed that Washington DC has the worst drivers in the nation. But it also seems like it has one of the most dishonest drivers.
Yesterday when I was rear ended, I talked to the guy at fault and exchanged the insurance information without calling the police to avoid hassle.
And now when that driver reported to his insurance company, he crafted a good story citing my fault. And the insurance company (another dishonest category of organization) believed that.
Moral of the story: Call 911 when in doubt.
Paul Krugman and the Vowels
Paul Krugman has problem with the long name of Narayana Kocherlakota. And he suggests dropping of the vowels in his name.
And that would also solve the US debt problem.
No IOU anymore.
Rating Agency Stunt
What about S&P downgrading Moody or Fitch or each other for their woeful performances over the years?
I wonder how often these guys talk to each other.
VT Nostalgia
Everytime when I miss my days at VirginiaTech, I try to treat myself with the Buruss Hall live web cam.
Dad and Mom in USA
Finally.
All the wait and excitement was worth it. They are finally here and I am really excited to take them around and awe them with the amazing landmarks and the scale of human development. In a way its a completely different world for them – for someone who didn’t studied that much (my parents never went to high shcool), never watch any Hollywood movies and who never existed in internet. They are happy to be here and see the different world. I am glad that they are amazed.
Cheers to us and America.
Seeing People Eat and Seeing Brat Pitt Eat
I feel uncomfortable seeing people eat – except for Brat Pitt.
And I think many feel the same (well about Brat Pitt). I can’t speak for everyone about the eating thing though.
Check out any of his movies and you see multiple scenes where he is eating. And he does that great. And he eats a lot in movies.
I haven’t noticed that with other hollywood actors.
My New Hobby
Beer tasting at local brewery.

They have live music on weekends. Perfect time to be.
Rewards on Going Green

Going green (in this case hybrid vehicle) pays you in more ways than you imagined.
And now a reserved parking spot. Sweet.
Too bad people didn’t notice or completely disobeyed the sign, there were non-hybrid vehicles on those parking spaces (something remotely close to hybrid vehicle like Nissan Pathfinder).
S&P Downgrades US Rating
S&P today downgraded US rating from AAA to AA+. In my opinion that was absolutely wrong. US dollars might not be AAA, US government’s functioning recently might not have been AAA (thanks to politicians in Washington to take the debt ceiling talk almost to the brink) but US debt is undoubtedly AAA.
And besides that, with S&P’s history of being a complete failure during 2008 housing market collapse, I don’t see any credibility in whatever they say about the ratings.
Graduation – Yay
